The Power of Salt: 14 Ways to Get the Most Out of Your Salt
Posted Date: : May 2, 2011 6:11 PM
Let's face it. Salt is good. It's healthy for you (the sea salt kind), it's white and it dissolves in water.
Salt might just be the coolest thing on the whole planet. It's SO rich and VIVID. Just thinking about this common dinner seasoning makes me enthusiastic about life. Personally. I think pepper is better, though.
Usually the salt we consume is mostly from salt mines and river ganges. There are whole trades just built on this common commodity. Some native people even thrive on salt. That's all they eat. Boy, are they hungry people. Salt lick, anyone?
Here are some ways to get better mileage out of salt:
1. Give it away-
The more salt you give away, the more others can use it! Yeah! This is the perfect way to help the greater good and it's light on your wallet as well.
2. Only buy sea salt-
Most regular salt probably is caked with aluminum and refined. Stick with sea salt for the best bet. Wanna play 21?
3. Throw it over your shoulder-
Hey, at least you'll have good luck, right?
4. Pour it on stuff-
Got food you don't like? Dump the whole salt container on it. Now you'll find that your food will taste a lot better. No more horrible bland tastes anymore. You can use this technique on anything!
5- Sun-dial-
If you position the salt right with the lunar alignment of the stars and solar-rays, you'll be able to find out what time it is. If has to be a bright day, though.
6- Desert Splurge-
If you're in the desert, you can pour salt on salty pretzels to survive. Make sure they're extra salty though, for extra flavor. If in doubt, pile on the salt. The more, the better. Make sure you overdo your salt intake if you're in a hot area.
7 Emergency Kit-
Going on a survival trip? Salt has all your solutions! It's like a swiss army knife. There's so many uses that I couldn't list them all on this blog. (over 3500)
8 Food for consumption-
You can eat it if you're starving. If you want more flavor try adding salt or pepper.
9 Get directions-
Pour your salt in water. Whichever way the salt flows is always the way home.
10 Spiritual guidance-
Spirits can easily be communicated with salt. It's their favorite food, so it acts like a homing beacon for them. You just swallow 2 grains of salt then 5, then 2 then 3, 5, 4, then one. Then you have a chance of contacting someone. This technique only works once every 5 milliseconds though, so don't waste your attempts.
11 6th sense-
Regularly increasing your salt intake can help your intuition and psychic powers temporarily.
12 Sense of smell-
You can smell salt.
13 Hearing-
Salt can be heard very well. Just listen closely.
14 Eye exercises-
If all else fails, you can at least stare at it.
